that's - thank god it's RAINING!!!! finally!!! hurricane season arrived right on schedule.

i didn't love the rainy season when i first moved here (probably had a lot to do w/ a crappy flat iron that didn't do anything for my frizzy hair and the fact that i had to drive an hour to and from work on 75 everyday in the crappiness) but i've since invested in a quality flat iron and gotten a job about 48 miles closer to where i live, so i've actually learned to like it quite a bit. it's calming.

we are having the house tented for termites next week. we first discovered this totally nasty issue about a month after we moved in here over 2 years ago and it took me awhile to come to terms with the fact that termites (and all bugs) are just a fact of life here in florida. anyway, i can't wait for everything to die. well, they wouldn't have to die if they'd just leave my house but i don't think they do that.

my inlaws are going to be here next week, too, so we are spending the week at the beach with them. that means this weekend i will be doing laundry laundry laundry and getting all our food bagged, etc for the tenting.

i am getting excited about their visit. i adore my inlaws and it will be fabulous to get out of this house for a week and be on the beach. also - mike and i are getting out alone for the first time since daniel arrived to go to a (very important) wedding. i am a little upset about both of us leaving him for the first time, but mike and i need this (REALLY need this). and he will be just fine w/ nanny & grandpa. i'm sure they're pretty excited :)
