10 reasons why i love my husband

in honor of valentine's day, this one is dedicated to mike:

10. he is an amazing dad. he gets up early, plays with daniel all day long, goes to work for 8 hours, goes to bed after midnight, and then does it all again the next day. he takes him to story time at the library, walks him in the park, and lets him play at the mall playground. no one makes my son smile like his daddy.

9. he's so focused. i'm all over the place, but mike has always had his head wrapped around exactly what he wants to accomplish. he knows exactly how to get there, and NOT succeeding isn't an option for him.

8. he gets me. i mean REALLY. and it doesn't scare him away. he knows i'm crazy. he also been around long enough to know why, so it's all good :)

7. we laugh at the same stuff. i sometimes wonder how boring life would be if i lived with someone who didn't think things were funny like i do. but we hear the same weird comment at church and then die laughing about it once we're safely in the car, or rewind the tv news to replay something hysterical that a reporter said.

6. people, the man cooks. he knows if he doesn't, i will eat trail mix and nacho surprise for dinner every night. i'm fine with that, but he loves me enough to make sure i have better. much better.

5. he's very talented. have you seen his pages? i am always amazed at what he can pull off with crappy art and a boring story.

4. he is considerate of things that are important to me, even if they are not important to him. he could care less if the house is clean, but he knows it's a major priority for me. he also realizes that i can't do it alone, so he pitches in anyway.

3. he goes to church with me. even after a long night at work, he gets up with me every sunday and has never once asked if we could just skip it.

2. he doesn't get MAD. sure, he gets angry sometimes, but he seldom yells or gets REALLY upset. in contrast, i DO get really upset, and he knows how to talk me down.

1. he loves me. simple as that. he still looks forward to every tuesday and wednesday night we have together. he gmails me constantly the five nights he's at work. he writes love notes, brings home wine, and loves to dance with me. i'm so lucky :)
