all i can say is wow. this guitar program i've gotten myself into is a BIG deal. i can't even explain what a great thing this is going to be for the kids. the workshop flew by because it was so much fun going through all of the activities. oh, and they are giving every school who participates an electric guitar and amp. yes, i said GIVING. i have been imagining the looks on my kids' faces when they see THAT. they also gave us the program band in a box so we can build beats and stuff for our kids to jam to.
tomorrow we have to compose and perform our own song. i'm pretty nervous about that.
i am amazed at the level of support we are given. if we want a jam track, all we have to do is call and they'll make it for us. any questions, any time, just call. all of the materials were given to us in a giant binder and are all reproducible. they gave us tons and tons of stuff.
i don't think i can really describe how exciting this is, or how exciting it will be for the kids. i think it's the single coolest thing i've been a part of as a teacher.
