pretty random

just because i'm in a mood....

1) since it cost me 40 bucks to fill up my gas tank today, i decided NOT to drive all the way down to my church and to visit my friendly neighborhood (ELCA) church. fortunately, my son was quite happy for the entire service. unfortunately, happy for daniel means talking and talking and talking at the top of his lungs, which he did for a solid hour. dadadadayayayayayadadadadlalalalala. i don't know which is preferable, having him do that at my church where everyone knows who i am or having him do it around perfect strangers.

2) on a side note, this ELCA church was way more traditional than my LCMS church.

3) i have LOT of cleaning to do this weekend. i mean a LOT. dreading this.

4) i got into an argument with another music teacher today. i think (no, i KNOW) that when you say something is "in 4" it means that there are 4 beats in a measure. this guy insists that it means anything where the quarter note gets the beat. (i'm right - and yes, i know it is sad that this actually turned into a semi-heated discussion).

5) i was really hoping that school would be canceled tomorrow due to high employee absenteeism. looks like we are going to school despite the fact that 1000+ teachers are taking the day off and 1/5 of our bus drivers are too, among others. should be an interesting day. i am almost looking forward to it (hey, i said almost) simply because i haven't really gotten to teach in the past couple of weeks due to FCAT.

i think that's all. it's been a day.
