settling

and by that i mean 'settling down,' not necessarily 'settling for less than what i had originally hoped for.' although i guess i am doing that too.

we decided NOT to do any more temporary housing and to go ahead with a 1 year lease on an apartment. temporary furnished housing that we could afford was CRAPPY, FAR AWAY, AND STILL EXPENSIVE. signing a 1 year lease takes off the some of the pressure of getting our house sold (although that still NEEDS to happen), will put us in the neighborhood we want to live in NOW, and will get us settled at a semi-permanent address.

it is a place i can live with. a 1920s town house w/ wood floors and a pretty fireplace. it could use some work, but it's clean and i can deal with it for a year. it has quite a bit of character, too, and is in a nice neighborhood near our church and mike's work (the only places we go for now). it has a small yard area for daniel to play in and a full size basement for storage. i'm actually pretty excited about it.

so, we are probably moving july 2nd. i really wanted to buy a house right away, but the more i thought about that, the more i knew it is better for us to wait.
