elementary music sub = my dream job

i'm really not joking. at least not right now :) i wish i could spend every day hopping from school to school, randomly teaching all of my favorite, most fun lessons. minimal responsibility. zero planning. easy peasy schedule. plenty of energy left over to be a mom to a busy toddler when i come home (well, in theory. i barely have energy to drag myself out of bed in the morning at this stage of the pregnancy). it's like being the fun aunt who swings into town every now and then to take the kids to the amusement park, feed them junk food, buy them fun presents, and then leaves them with mom, who has to deal with all the real stuff like curriculum, vocal development, and THEORY.

i'm sure i'll want to be the "mom" again someday, but for now, this is REALLY fun. unfortunately, my days working in elementary music are very few and far between. thanks to my dear husband's schedule, i have to take the jobs that are closest to our apartment and that end early in the day, which usually means....HIGH SCHOOL. :( nothing at all against mike - his job is the reason why we are here and are able to afford for me to do this in the first place.
