kara - 0, die cut machine - 3

i hate that thing.

another teacher using the machine next to me today summed it up by saying, "this is torture."

i loathe bulletin boards in general. taking down the old one i left up in may (and seriously considering just skipping the whole ordeal and leaving up last year's). trying to guestimate how much big paper i need, then traipsing back to the workroom for more because i guestimated wrong. piecing together random scraps of border trying to scrape together enough to go all the way around my giant bulletin board.

and then there's the die cuts. slicing the construction paper into strips that usually end up being too thin. trying to find the letter i need because somebody put them back out of order. TRYING TO GET THE DAMN THING TO CUT THROUGH 6 PIECES OF PAPER AT THE SAME TIME BECAUSE YOU NEED 6 S's. (that's the worst). today i made 3 separate trips to the die cut machine room because it actually took that many attempts to get all of the letters i need because some of them inevitably blow out of my hands on the treck back to my classroom.

i can't wait until daniel is old enough to come to preplanning and cut my letters for me. he'll probably think it's fun and i will probably get in trouble for him leaving a mess in the die cut room but it will be totally worth it.

anyway. room 402 is almost ready for the kiddos. school starts monday, wheee!
