goings on at work

i think you all know how much i love my job. i have a great school, i adore my kids, and even though i am not a morning person, once i am up i am happy and do not dread going to work like i did my first two years of teaching.

unfortunately our enrollment is down and so i have been cut a day. i have to go to another school for the 5th day.

i've known about this for awhile but reserved all complaints about this for the day i found out WHERE i would be going. my county is huge and i could end up anywhere, even driving 45 minutes. this would not make me happy, as i purposely got a job at a school in my neighborhood so i wouldn't have to spend oodles of time and gas on getting to work. i think that's part of the reason why i hated my old job.

well.

dr. masters called me over the intercom to come and see her when i have a minute. this was 5 minutes into my first class and of course my "minute" is not available for another couple of hours. so, of course i almost pee myself thinking i'm in trouble for some reason, even though i know she is calling me to tell me what school i got. (i'm hoping someday i'll stop doing that).

my real school is 1.6 miles from my house.
my monday school is 2.2 miles away.

also, i think it's a lot like my school. i emailed the teacher today and she seemed nice. i was hoping we would be co-teaching but i will have my own room "for now." kinda sounds like she is going to decide if she likes me or not before she commits to co-teaching. totally understandable. if i woulda kept a blog while i had a co-teacher..................oh my the things i would have vented about. but that would have been unprofessional. so i didn't :)

but anyway. i'm looking forward to hopefully getting some new ideas at this other school. we'll see!
