thanksgiving

my inlaws are gone, we're out of cool whip so no more pie for me, and vacation officially ends at 7:30 tomorrow morning :( boo.

it went very quickly and i don't feel rested or relaxed at all. i guess this is how school vacations are going to be for the next 20 years or so.

i actually recall thinking about some of the moms i work with before i had daniel and wondering how they could *really* get excited about school vacations because they have to work pretty hard at home, too, where i used to lay around on the couch, surf the web, watch girlie movies, and eat chocolate pretzels. i'm relieved to report that i did get just as excited as i used to and had an awesome thanksgiving break with my sweet boy. it was heaven to stay home with him all day and not have to rush off to work.

daniel had a nice first thanksgiving. we ran dinner a tad too close to nap time, so it was a quick one. he fed himself some mashed potatoes, corn casserole, and some pieces of turkey. yum.

he is feeding himself more and more table foods. it makes me pretty nervous but he loves it and is doing great with it. which is good, because i loathe and despise feeding him baby food. it is the only thing about parenting that i can honestly say that i hate. weird, i know, since there are so many yucky things about babies.....but that's my one thing. baby food.

4 weeks. 20 work days. the countdown to christmas break is ON!
