15 month stats

he's not quite 15 months yet, but we had his appointment today since we are moving soon.

weight: 24 lbs, 13 oz - 50th percentile
height: 31 3/4 inches tall - 75th percentile

you all know i've been worried about his lack of speaking skills for awhile, and i was relieved to finally have the chance to address that. well, not me, mike went this time because i had to work.
basically, the doctor was not worried in the least. he said if there were ANY other delays at all, he might be a bit concerned, but daniel is ahead in pretty much every other area of development. he asked if daniel follows directions and stacks blocks, which he does, and if he runs stiff-legged, which he does not. so, i guess those are warning signs and he doesn't have any. he said that babies who are advanced in other areas tend to lag behind in others, which i knew, but needed to hear from a doctor.

his newer skills include running with objects in his hand (not scissors, haha), climbing, and identifying my nose and his. in fact, if i tell him, 'no,' he comes up and points to my 'nose.'

speaking of scissors, he was at school with me this afternoon, playing at a table while i talked to some other people. one of the first grade teachers said, "is he playing with scissors???" i glanced over there, said "yeah" and went on with my conversation. i'm such a great mom. (they were seriously plastic kid scissors with rounded edges. he has baby toys that are more dangerous.)
