"issued"

that little word finally popped up on my screen this morning after weeks of seeing "on hold." ohio did not like my florida test scores or qualifications (or even my indiana ones, for that matter) and made me take additional tests to get certified to teach here. they wouldn't even let me take the training i needed to start SUBBING until my certification was issued.

so i payed my $600, took the (miserable essay) tests, and waited. i checked everyday, even though i knew it was unlikely it would show up in the system before my scores arrived by mail.

well, even if they are demanding, the certification people are super fast and got it posted sometime between yesterday and this morning, before i even got my scores in the mail. so WOOO, i passed both tests, won't have to retake anything, and am allowed to teach in the state of ohio. i take the sub training on 9/18 and can start working the next day. we really needed me to start earlier, but i did all of the requirements as fast as i could get them done (i applied for certification in APRIL, while Mike was still on the phone accepting his job offer. no lie).

part of me is pretty happy that i still have another, what, 3 weeks? i love being home with daniel, and am not looking forward to being in a different building with different routines every single day.
