things are looking good

the potential buyers wrote up a contract but are waiting until tomorrow to sign it so that their parents can look over it for them. however, our realtor called and presented it to us verbally, and it was considerably better than i expected. the only change we asked for was on the closing date - they want december 12th and that obviously won't work for us :)

there are a couple of hurdles, minor ones.....they have a lease they have to get out of, and of course we have to get through the inspection. but, it was a good offer and they're qualified, so we have every reason to believe that this will work out. i'll feel better once they sign the offer, though!

this is an answer to a million prayers. things are working out quite differently than i pictured them last spring, but mike and i are happier than we've ever been (although we do miss our friends and get lonely sometimes). no, we aren't going to be able to buy a house here right away like we had planned. however, it looks like most of the other things we wanted are going to work out. after Patrick comes, i will be able to stay home most of the time and sub occasionally. we live close enough to our family to visit as often as we want. mike loves his job. taking a bit of a hit from the sale of our house is absolutely nothing compared to everything we've gotten out of moving here.
