These aren't your grandma's flat diapers, people. (Well, some of them are....Patrick goes through too many a day for me to have bought enough of the fancy ones to keep up with him!) We use pocket diapers, which are basically a cover that you stuff with an insert....or 2 or 3 for long car trips :) Our inserts are made of microfiber, and we have a couple of hemp ones to use at night. Most of our diapers are one size fits all, so they adjust to fit babies of any size.

Yeah, they're a little bulky on Patrick still :)We've got around 30 of the pocket diapers. It's an expensive initial investment (pockets cost anywhere from $17-30 each) but I've figured we'll be saving around $2000 between both of the boys, even with Daniel having started a year late. We also have 24 flat diapers with covers. They were cheap, and I bought them because Patrick was too little for the pockets for a couple of weeks. Plus, I can't afford to buy him enough pockets to last the 2 days to laundry day.
Here are Patrick's diapers:
Baby Kangas at the top, Blueberries at the bottom right. They are one size fits all, and could be used on Daniel, too. The ones at the bottom left are Thirsties covers for our flat diapers (not shown, but we have 24).
Here are Daniel's (he doesn't need as many anymore):
He wears a couple of the one size fits all Baby Kangas (blue and burgundy at top left), but mostly Fuzzi Bunz (top right). They'll start fitting Patrick, too, once he hits 15 pounds. The ones at the bottom are Mommy's Touch (bottom row) - night time diapers super stuffed with multiple hemp inserts. Ha.
Aren't they CUTE???? We have several more that were either dirty or on a bottom when we took the pictures.
And yes, Mike changes, washes, and stuffs the diapers on a regular basis. He's been with me on this 100% from the beginning!
