well this is all happening a little sooner than I had planned....

we were looking at moving in late spring/early summer but of course the perfect house is on the market now. (not the one i posted last week, that one turned out to have tiny rooms and be in a bad neighborhood).

anyway, so we put an offer down Thursday night. our agent also happens to be the listing agent and told us it's been on the market for about 4 months and the guy was really wanting to get rid of it. so we offered low, they countered back, and we met in the middle. it was stressful at the time but it was all done in less than 24 hours so i guess it went pretty smoothly.

well, we were on our way to Tampa to sign the paperwork when Todd called and told us to turn around. apparently the house is owned by 2 brothers--one in Tampa, the other in Canada. The brother that is here is all for the deal we agreed on but the other one is confused about the price. Ugh. so no deal, yet. they were supposed to discuss it last night and call Todd this morning. We won't go any higher so if they try to negotiate more we have to get out :(

meanwhile, we spent last night picking out paint colors, light fixtures, and a washer/dryer for the house we don't even know we have. of course we haven't bought anything and won't until we close :)

it is the perfect house...refurbished wood floors, all new tile in the kitchen/bathrooms, new sinks, tubs, appliances, electrical work, plumbing. 2 beds, 2 baths, breakfast nook. the outside leaves a lot to be desired. it's not in bad shape, just plain and ugly. i can't wait to slap some window flower boxes on that thing :)
