sweet freedom

my last program at ashton is over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

all the concerts this month went very well, especially my recorder one on thursday night. Most of my programs involve 200+ kids and around 600 parents and grandparents. this one just had my 18 auditioned recorder kids and their 40 or so parents. it was really nice.

classes start in 2 weeks so i'm enjoying a little free time between now and then. i should be home before dark every night this week, wooooooo!

looking for a job :( all of the postings in Tampa are still for transfers only so i can't do much until June 2nd on interview day. my neighbor came over and asked for my resume today. apparently his wife's aunt is the principal at a school near our house and he told her about me and now the principal wants to contact me. i was like, well i won't do her much good seeing as she doesn't have a music position open. he told me that she doesn't post positions until she finds who she wants for the job. soooooo that could turn into something.

a friend of mine from one of my classes works at a private school on bayshore. her principal asked her to help find people for their k, 1, 5, and 7th grade positions. Not really what I want but I'm going to sit on it for a couple of days before I email her back. I've always considered 1st or 2nd grade, and this school uses the public school pay scale. so that's another possibility.

Mike and I cleaned the house and did yard work today. He's working tonight but we are going to a party at one of his friends houses (here in the neighborhood, apparently). Tomorrow we are going to St. Pete Beach. Patty got a hotel room for the day and a bunch of people Mike knows from the paper are going to party on down all day :) Hooray for white legs at the beginning of beach season :)
