shred update

Kristin and I have completed up to day 7 of Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. We missed a day on Saturday, but other than that, we've been faithfully meeting in her basement to sweat and whine each afternoon at 4:45 p.m.

First the disappointing news: the numbers on the scale haven't budged. Both of us stick within a 5 pound range normally, and we have found our weight to be holding steady at the very top of our normal range. Annoying.

HOWEVER, (and this is a big however), we have both found that we feel better, that our clothes fit better, and that we are getting firmer. So, I'd rather have that than have the numbers going down. I personally am happy with the results so far, and will be thrilled if things keep changing and improving at this pace.

We are still on level one and will remain there until day 10 on Wednesday. After that, we switch to level two. I'm scared. Level one is pretty tough on it's own :) We are pleased with how tough the workout is. Probably my number one complaint about workout DVDs in general is that they don't do much, but that certainly is not the case with this one.

We've also already devised a plan for when we're done: We are going to meet 3 times per week. One of us will work out on the elliptical while the other does a DVD (maybe 30DS, maybe something else), and then we'll switch.

Meeting every single day is really hard, but we're going to stick with it for the rest of the 30 days!
